Miss Streets of Bakersfield 2019 Pinup Contest
Join us for the third annual Miss Streets of Bakersfield Pinup Contest! Registration fee is $35 (nonrefundable) and all proceeds benefit the California Pinups & Patriots fundraising campaign to sponsor a home at the Bakersfield Veteran's Village (bakersfieldveteransvillage.org) Space is limited to 25 contestants. Entry deadline is March 12, 2019. As part of your registration, please submit 2 photos - 1 headshot and 1 full length (professional photos not necessary). Please also tell us about yourself in a quick paragraph: occupation, hobbies, interest, etc. Please email this details separately to our event coordinator, Dee Nunez, at XXXX@gmail.com SCHEDULE: Thursday, 3/14/19, 4:00 p.m. at Buck Owens Crystal Palace (attendance not mandatory for pinup contest but is highly encouraged). Contestants will take photographs with hot rods and will be introduced on stage. Friday, 3/15/19, 5:00 p.m. at Kern County Raceway Park (attendance not mandatory for pinup contest but is highly encouraged). Car show entrants will be participating in a burnout competition and attending a drive-in movie. Pinup contestants will be selling 50/50 tickets, taking photos and acting as car hops during the movie. Saturday, 3/16/19, 7:00 a.m. at The Fox Theater (mandatory attendance for pinup contestants) Pinup contestants will pose for photos in front of the Fox Theater with the car show participants as they cruise by. Pinup contestants will then be selling 50/50 tickets during the car show. Final walk across the main stage, introduction of contestants and contest finale will take place at 3:00 p.m. PRIZES: 3 winning contestants will be awarded prizes - Grand Prize: $100 gift certificate to a pinup clothing store *Grand Prize winner must be available to the California Pinups & Patriots for appearances and/or promotions of other events as agreed upon during her tenure, as well as be present at the 2020 Miss Streets of Bakersfield Pinup Contest to crown her successor* 1st runner up: Lux de Ville handbag valued at $75 *1st runner up must also be available to the California Pinups & Patriots for appearances and/or promotions of other events as agreed upon. 1st runner up will assume the duties of the Grand Prize winner should the winner become unavailable or resign.* second runner up: beauty basket valued at $50 JUDGING: Contestants will be judged on a 3-part point system: 1) Popularity votes submitted on ballots/tickets by car show entrants 2) Personality and poises voted on by judges 3) 50/50 ticket sales counted by California Pinups & Patriots RULES AND RELEASES (please read carefully and submit any questions to Dee Nunez): - This is a classic, family-friendly pinup contest. Clothing, hair and makeup should be modest, tasteful, and in the styles of the 1940's and 1950's eras. Tattoos are okay. -No costumes, swimsuits or lingerie allowed. *Wearing of military uniforms, either in whole or in part, is prohibited* -No extremely short or see-through clothing is allowed; dresses and skirts should be just above the knee or longer. -All participants agree to act in a professional manner. Inappropriate language or conduct will not be tolerated. -No alcohol allowed while modeling/competing during the event. -All participants must be eighteen years of age or older with a valid ID. -Participating and/or being a finalist does not guarantee placement in any calendar or in a chapter. -All participants must sign Participant Liability Waiver prior to participating in the event. -Any participant acting in a lewd manner (i.e., simulating sexual acts) will be disqualified. -The use of profanity during the question and answer session will result in disqualification. -Nudity is strictly prohibited. Any violations will cause immediate disqualification and expulsion from the event. - All participants agree to be accessible immediately after the event for the photography session with the official event photographer, if they become a contest finalist. -Participants agree that California Pinups & Patriots and Cruizin4Charity/Streets of Bakersfield car show can use their image and/or likeness, name, biographical details, any recordings and/or video in unlimited promotional, advertising and merchandising purposes in any format or media either displayed, distributed or sold. -Any permission granted to the Photographer shall extend to his/her successors, legal representatives, licensees and asigns and shall be irrevocable and perpetual without any further or additional claim for compensation by the Model. -Permission is specfiically granted for the Work to be edited, altered, distorted, used in whole or in part, in conjunction with other images, graphis, test and sound in any way whatsoever and without restrictions. -Permission herein granted is absolute and final and shall not be subject to further inspection or approval by the Model at any stage in the use of the Work. -Use of the Work shall be unrestricted as to location, quantity or frequency, may be for any purpose and in any medium whatsoever, whether foreseen or unforeseen at this time, except where such use is in contravention of the law. -Use of the Work may be in conjunction with the Models name (or stage name if preferred) or description where applicable. The Photographer shall own all rights in the Work which shall accrue to the benefit of his/her successors, legal representatives and assigns. -Notwithstanding the above, the following uses are specifically noted and agreed to, and specific exclusions for use listed here shall take precedence and restrict the use of the Work accordingly. -The Model warrants having read and understood this Photo Release Agreement and warrants being the Model, and being of legal age and competency and with every right to enter into an agreement. -With full knowledge of the above, the Model hereby releases and holds harmless the Photographer and his/her successors, legal representatives, licensees and assigns form all claims or damages including but not limited to defamation or violation of right of privacy or publicity, resulting from or associated with the use of the Work. -The Owner agrees that the provisions contained herein shall be binding upon his/her successors, legal representatives and assigns. -This Agreement shall be construed, interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and should any provision of this Agreement be judged by an appropriate court as invalid, it shall not affect any of the remaining provisions whatsoever. -The parties agree that any or all parts of this agreement may be submitted to the other part in legible and recordable electronic form and upon acknowledgement of receipt by the receiving party shall become valid parts of the Agreement. As a participant in the Contest, I agree to the terms and conditions above. Furthermore, I understand that California Pinups & Patriots and Cruzin4Charity/Streets of Bakersfield have family audiences in mind and strict adherence to the rules must be followed.
