Through poetry, spoken word, music, dance and theatre, UrbanErotika will celebrate Love & Sex in Hip Hop in an inclusive, loving and positive way.This show is the perfect interlude in your Thanksgiving weekend!*Hip Hop’s originality and ingenuity will be reflected in every performance, including signature elements like beat box, graffiti art and freestyling.*This month’s curator Toni Blackman, is an award-winning artist, her steadfast work and commitment to hip-hop led the U.S. Department of State to select her to work as the first ever hip-hop artist to work as an American Cultural Specialist. She has served in Senegal, Ghana, Botswana, and Swaziland where her residencies include performance, workshops, and lectures on hip hop music and culture. She has toured Southeast Asia with Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Musical Ambassador program and has shared the stage with the likes of Erykah Badu, Mos Def, The Roots, Wu Tang Clan, GURU, Bahamadia, Boot Camp Clic, Me’Shell NdegeoCello, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Jill Sobule and even Rickie Lee Jones. *Mo Beasley’s UrbanErotika champions sex positive expression through the Arts. *Our November 23rd show- Love, Sex & Hip Hop will uplift, enlighten and inspire dialogue encouraging an expansive point of view in reference to sexuality, eroticism and how women are reflected in hip hop culture. *THIS IS A FEEL GOOD SHOW.
